When I first moved to Millbrook, I quickly discovered Babette’s and their buttermilk biscuits. The biscuit is light and fluffy and tastes like something served right out of Granny’s oven on Walton’s Mountain. It is heavenly. I found myself thinking about those biscuits and heading to Babette’s a little too often. Whenever I have French house guest I make sure I get some of those biscuits to serve hem a taste of American cooking- and they always ask how to make them. I must admit, I really do not know. It is a secret family recipe that Buffy’s grandmother gave her. If she ever gives it up to me, I will write a column about it!
